| Im losing it...again |
| Layoff 2/09, DH DX w early Ca 4/09..surgery. My own surgery 7/09. No jobs, no interviews. Me another surgery 5/10...Dh dx again with Ca in April. COBRA ends in Oct...although premium raises in August to over 1100.00...if not extended, which it doesn't look good. Unemployment ends for us next week if not extended.
I was in the worst mood today and realiazed finally that life just feels, well, kinda over. We are both sick (Drs thinking my gallbladder needs to come out) his surgery is not till July..we never smile, laugh, kiss or anything else. We were working hard, living life and happy with what we had. Now its just over. There is a glimmer in me that realizes things could return and even be better...but right now I want to kick and scream that this isn't fair...like a two year old. I don't understand why the unemployment extention is even a question..I don't understand why its never on the news. I REALLY don't understand why there isn't some kind of COBRA extention for people with a major illness (Disability is the only thing and you had to be disabled in the first 60 days of COBRA) The federal high risk pools are going, but cant get on them if you've had insurance for the last 6 months,,,even if it was COBRA that you have no choice but to lose. So, who know if he can get insurance, and its starting to feel like "Who cares". The stories I read under the news comments re unemployment extentions are heartbreaking. I am devestated for all of us having to go through this worry. And yes..its all I can do to not be a smart-arse and wish all the politicians a fun 4th of July with their trips and picnics..just like they probably enjoyed their Memorial day week. We will be sitiing here not laughing, not smiling, not kissing,, just sitting here feeling like our life is over. |
